CourtWatch: Buehler v. City of Austin (TXWD) – 1:13-cv-01100-ML

AUSTIN, TX — JULY 31, 2014 — Antonio Buehler has sued the City of Austin, TX, over his right to film the police, and the case has taken an interesting twist.

In the following MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER, it was held that the requirement for false criminal charges to be “terminated in the defendant’s favor” in order to sustain a claim of false arrest is no longer valid – there has to be no probable cause for arrest.

So, here it is – 36 pages – the judge’s order…
